Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a ubiquitous plastic used in many different industries and markets. Unfortunately, PVC is persistent, bio-accumulative and toxic (PBT) to the environment.
PVC uses a variety of different additives from phthalates, lead, cadmium, organotins for stabilizing, increasing flexibility. Many of these chemicals leech out of the PVC when land-filled and have the potential to contaminate water supplies. These potentially contaminated water supplies may impact the health and safety of the people around the landfills as the chemicals work their way up through the food chain. Dymax is pleased to announce that we do not use polyvinyl chloride in any of our light or activator curing adhesives, coatings, or sealants.
